Gallery Information

The Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly, ACGOW, is a 501-(c)3 non-profit organization run by volunteers. It offers exhibits, openings, lectures, workshops, and classes.

ACGOW exhibits a new show, free and open to the public, every month with work from member artists. Openings are held from 5-8 pm on the 1st Wednesday of the month during the Westerly-Pawcatuck Art Stroll. Maps of the Stroll are available at the gallery.

Each spring ACGOW sponsors a juried regional show that attracts artists from across the Northeast.

Map and Directions

From I-95 N:

Take exit 92 onto Rte 2 South. At the end of Rte 2, turn left onto Rte 1 and under the railroad bridge. Cross the Pawcatuck River into Rhode Island and bear right at the Washington Trust building. Immediately take a left onto Union street. Turn left at the next intersection and bear right at the fountain in the center of Dixon Square. The Brown Building will be immediately to your left. Parking is available across the street.

From I-95 S:

Take exit 92 and go left at Rte 49. At the traffic light, go left on Rte2. At the end of Rte 2, turn left onto Rte 1 and under the railroad bridge. Cross the Pawcatuck River into Rhode Island and bear right at the Washington Trust building. Immediately take a left onto Union street. Turn left at the next intersection and bear right at the fountain in the center of Dixon Square. The Brown Building will be immediately to your left. Parking is available across the street.

History

The Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly, Inc. was founded by artists in 1992. Artist owned and operated, it has around 50 members and a dedicated group of friends, sponsors, and volunteers.

Mission

The Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly is a non-profit art organization dedicated to supporting and nurturing the visual arts in the greater Westerly/Pawcatuck area through:

• Increasing awareness and appreciation of the visual arts
• Building an arts community through mutual support, cooperation and education
• Providing artists with an opportunity to develop, exhibit and sell their work
