Artist Membership

ACGOW has been successful as a cooperative gallery with a structure of artists who do everything from planning and hanging exhibits to staffing the gallery. The community aspects of using our different talents not only to produce art for the gallery but to run the gallery is prized by our members and tends to inspire us.

If you are a working artist looking for gallery space and wish to join a unique community, the Artists' Cooperative Gallery invites you to submit your work for consideration. Applicants are considered and reviewed at the gallery's end of month meetings by a jury of five members. Applicants are notified of their acceptance within one week. Artist Membership Benefits

• Commission-free sales, except for yearly silent auction
• Opportunity to show monthly
• No Hanging Fees
• Eligibility to be a Featured Artist
• Interaction with patrons at Gallery Openings on 1st Wednesday Art Stroll

• Join a fascinating community of painters, sculptors, photographers, potters, jewelers, glassmakers, and more who network, promote and sell each other's art.

Artist Membership Requirements

• Dues- $240 a year
• Manage the Gallery for one shift per month (3 1/2 hours)
• Help with two Show Committees each year
• Serve on at least one standing committee

How to become an Artist Member

• New members are juried in each month by member review of 5 pieces of work. All types of art are welcome

Associate Membership

ACGOW is expanding their membership categories to include Associate Memberships for artists who would like to be part of the gallery but don't have the time to work in a cooperative.

Associate Memberships are open to all artists, student artists and anyone who wishes to be a part of the Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly.

The Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly invites you to join our community of artists as an Associate Member.

Associate Member Benefits

• The opportunity to submit one piece of work for jurying at the annual All Members Exhibit
• No hanging fees or commissions in the All Members Exhibit
• Quarterly E-mail newsletters and exhibit schedules
• A listing on ACGOW's web site, www.westerlyarts.com, with artist information and a link to your website
• The opportunity to volunteer at the gallery and work with us in hanging shows and managing the gallery
• The opportunity to become part of the welcoming, vibrant community of artists in the Westerly/Pawcatuck area
• No gallery responsibilities unless you choose to volunteer
• No voting or meeting responsibilities
• Annual membership for just $35
